Suburban Sound Recordings
suburban is an enigmatic, aesthetic rap artist who released his debut single, “Aquafina,” in 2018. He continued to release material in that first year, with nine additional singles, all featuring suburban’s unique style of single artwork, following before year-end. These included his two most popular titles to-date: “Ain’t it Nice” and “Y 3,” which were released in October and December, respectively, of that year. suburban followed these successful titles up with five singles in 2019, including top titles “Hannas’” and “Swiff,” the latter of which features fellow mysterious indie artists $atori Zoom and Lavaboy. While there weren’t as many releases in the following years, 2021 did see the release of single “BRELA” featuring T-Choppa, and two more singles have followed since.

This offering contains ninety-five percent (95%) of the sound recording owners’ share of income paid by Ditto Music from the sound recordings recorded by suburban, listed here.

Nas's "Affirmative Action" and Related Compositions
This catalog contains the original composition “Affirmative Action,” which was recorded by legendary hip hop artist Nas featuring AZ, Cormega, and Foxy Brown and released in 1996. In 2010, R&B artist Jazmine Sullivan sampled the composition for her recording “Holding You Down,” and in 2018, superstar artist Drake released “Mob Ties” on his five-times platinum album, Scorpion. Megan Thee Stallion, who was named Best New Artist at the 2021 GRAMMYs, then sampled Sullivan’s single for her release, “Circles,” on her 2020 full-length Good News. All four of these titles are included in this offering.

This offering contains one hundred percent (100%) of the copyright income from the writer’s share and related co-publisher’s share of income paid by Songtrust and BMI from the music composition “Affirmative Action,” recorded by Nas, as well as three related derivative works: Drake’s “Mob Ties” and Jazmine Sullivan’s “Holding You Down,” which both sample the work, and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Circles,” which samples Sullivan’s “Holding You Down.”
